VELCRO® Brand Nylon Fasteners consist of two mating components: hook and loop. The woven hook tape consists of minute, flexible "hooks" which engage with a loop tape comprised of small, soft "loops." When pressed together the resulting closure is adjustable & highly secure.

Which side is the hook and which is the loop?
A:  Loop is the soft, fuzzy side, which is composed of hundreds of thousands of individual “loops” that the hook material grabs onto when the two are mated (put together).

Q:   What is the minimum order?  Are the two sides sold separately, or together?
A:  The minimum order is just one roll on most items.  However, hook and loop are sold un-mated, which means that each side comes on a separate roll.

Flame Retardant Hook & Loop—available with Standard Backing or Spectrum™ 0172 PSA Backing:

  • Hook 88 and Loop 1000 with a Flame Retardant Coating
  • Tested in accordance with the following methods to meet the respective specifications:
    • Radiant Peel—ASTM Method E-162
    • Federal Test Method Standard 191—Method 5903
    • AMTRAK Spec. No. GEN-S-014-001, Rev. B, November 30, 1976

Woven Polyester Hook & Loop Fasteners:

  • Designed for use where resistance to some chemicals or UV light may be required
  • Good holding strength when exposed to a high humidity environment or submerged in water for extended periods
  • Lower cycle life than nylon hook & loop products
  • Available in Sew-Quality or with 0172 PSA backing

HI-AIR® Woven Fastening Tapes (Flame-Retardant):

  • Special woven hook and loop tapes of a Nomex® composite to meet or exceed existing F.A.A. requirements
  • A flame-retardant liquid adhesive (#127) is available and recommended for bonding

MVA # 8:

  • Continuous injection-molded hook for use with Loop 1000 and Loop 2000
  • High strength, low cyclability; engages with open pore cell foams
  • Available with or without 0172 Adhesive

VELSTICK® Brand VELWASHERTM Fasteners:

  • Die-cut rigid discs faced with permanently attached VELCRO® Brand woven nylon or polyester hook, loop, or molded hook fastening component and featuring a center hole for attachment purposes
